SOUTHWEST MIDDLESEX COUNCIL

The Municipal Council of the Municipality of Southwest Middlesex met in Regular Session in the Council Chamber on June 28, 2017 at 7:00 p.m.

COUNCIL PRESENT:

Mayor Vance Blackmore (Chair presiding), Deputy Mayor Marigay Wilkins, Councillors Karen Aranha, Doug Bartlett, Rick Cowell, John Kavelaars, Don McCallum and Martin Vink

STAFF PRESENT:

Mayor Blackmore calls the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

1.Intention of Removal of Holding Provision – Elizabeth Street

THAT it is recommended that the amending by-law to remove the Holding Symbol H-1 as it applies to the subject lands be passed by Council.

2.Draft Accountability and Transparency Policy

THAT council receive the Draft Accountability and Transparency Policy; and
THAT council direct staff to develop a by-law which updates the Municipality of Southwest Middlesex’s policies required under Section 270 of the Municipal Act, 2001, and include the draft Accountability and Transparency Policy as a schedule to such a by-law.

10.REPORTS OF COMMITTEES

Councillor McCallum provided an update from the St. Clair Conservation Authority related to a tour of the Peak of Mosa, endangered species within the area, and accessible walking trails throughout the park.

Councillor Cowell provided an update from the Canada Day Committee, including information
on the various activities within Southwest Middlesex for the Canada Day sesquicentennial.
