Overview

We are seeking an experienced professional to fulfill the position of Financial Analyst for a one-year contract for the period of September 1, 2022 to August 31, 2023.

Position responsibilities include:

  • Manage all aspects of payroll, including monthly and bi-weekly pay, deductions and remittances, issuance of T4’s, and reconciliations.
  • Manage day-to-day administration and compliance with the Municipality’s various benefit plans and programs, including Group Health Benefits, Life Insurance, Employee Assistance, OMERS, etc.
  • Responsible for all accounts payable functions, including verification of approval and coding of invoices, ensuring all invoices are paid within terms, preparing reports for council, maintenance of WSIB clearance database.
  • Responsible for monthly bank reconciliation.
  • Process WSIB claims, submitting forms, and related matters.
  • Assists with Municipal Audit as Required.
  • Assist with software system implementations.
  • Provides backup support to Treasurer as required.
Qualifications
  • The successful applicant will be required to work 40 hours per scheduled work week and will report to the Treasurer or designate. 
  • The minimum qualification for this position is  a post-secondary diploma in accounting or finance.
  • The successful candidate will be required to provide a valid Police Background Check as well as proof of vaccination.
