Fire Master Plan & Community Risk Assessment

In February 2022, Emergency Management Group was retained to develop a 7-year MFP and CRA as part of the strategic planning process to prepare the Municipality to deliver fire protection services.

Council received the staff report entitled “Fire Master Plan (MFP) and Community Risk Assessment (CRA)" and endorsed the recommendations listed within the MFP and CRA.  Recommendations included for consideration will be reviewed in future budgets as part of strategic implementation of the MFP and CRA.  The full report can be reviewed as part of the October 12, 2022 Southwest Middlesex Council Agenda.

Southwest Middlesex Official Plan Amendment OPA No.3

Southwest Middlesex adopted Official Plan Amendment OPA 3 which will now be forwarded to the County of Middlesex for County Council’s consideration.

Monteith Brown Planning Consulting was retained by the County of Middlesex to complete a five year update to the Southwest Middlesex Official Plan. The scope of the work focusses on text updates, in order to reflect provincial planning legislation changes, and ensure consistency with the Provincial Policy Statement, and conformity with the County of Middlesex Official Plan.  For more information on the Official Plan Amendment for Southwest Middlesex see the October 12, 2022 Southwest Middlesex Council Agenda.

Appin Playground

The Appin accessible/inclusive playground will be further updated to add an armour rock boundary stone barricade for safety and drainage purposes.  The playground work is anticipated to be completed in November, 2022 weather permitting - we are all looking forward for this special design to be available for families to enjoy.
