The Municipality of Southwest Middlesex acknowledges the resignation of Councillor Amy Choi, who has represented Ward 3 with dedication and commitment. Her contributions to Council and the community have made a meaningful impact, and we sincerely thank her for her service. On behalf of Council and staff, we extend our best wishes as she moves on to new opportunities.
As she reflects on her time on Council, Councillor Choi has highlighted several initiatives she is most proud to have been part of, including:
- Helping to launch the first Glencoe Holiday Night Market during the pandemic, bringing the community together during a challenging time
- Supporting the creation of the Holiday Business Tour to promote and connect local businesses
- Collaborating on arena renovations and celebrating its Grand Opening
- Advocating for the development of the Wardsville Inclusive and Accessible Park to enhance community spaces
- Engaging with staff to explore options for a Summer Camp program to expand recreational opportunities for families
- Encouraging greater representation for women and young families in municipal decision-making
