Manager of Finance/Treasurer
2024 Salary Range: $112,364 to $131,450
The Municipality of Southwest Middlesex is seeking qualified applicants for the Manager of Finance/Treasurer position. The Municipality of Southwest Middlesex is a vibrant rural-urban community of 5,800 residents and growing. Southwest Middlesex has a strong agricultural base and manufacturing, institutional, and retail business activity. Southwest Middlesex is in the southwest corner of Middlesex County, sits halfway between the cities of London and Chatham, and is a short drive from the north shore of Lake Erie. The Manager of Finance/Treasurer is a key role within the organization and involves overseeing all accounting and treasury functions, ensuring compliance with municipal policies, and acting as the Chief Financial Officer. Reporting directly to the Chief Administrative Officer, the successful candidate will manage the Finance department, supervise a staff of 3, and participate in the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures. Key responsibilities include preparing and monitoring annual budgets, maintaining accounting records, handling treasury functions, and advising the CAO and Council on financial matters.
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree in an accounting-related field, a CPA designation, and a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience. Excellent communication, supervisory, and organizational skills are essential.
